Enlisted on Apr. 26, 1862, at Fayette Co., Alabama, by J.J. Winston [1]. Muster May 3, 1862. Drew clothing May 22, 1864. POW captured at Ruff's Mill, Ga., July 5, 1864, by 16th U.S. Army Corps; turned over to the Provost Marshal, Marietta, Ga., July 7, 1864. Received at Military Prison, Louisville, Ky., July 4, 1864; forwarded to Camp Douglas, Chicago, Ill., entered July 18, 1864. Died of pneumonia at Camp Douglas Feb. 23, 1865.
