Nelda was born the daughter of the late Irwin and Ethel Savoie Pearce. Mrs. Holmes was a retired employee of the State of Illinois Unemployment Office. She had also been an employee of Illinois Bell Telephone. She was a graduate of Kankakee High School and enjoyed gardening. Surviving are her husband, Larry P. Holmes, whom she married Oct. 12, 1957, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church; one son and daughter-in-law, T.J. and Lynne Holmes of Dundee; one daughter, Tari Holmes of Louisville, Ky.; two grandsons, Tim Holmes and Mike Holmes; one sister, Linda Benoit of Bourbonnais; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Dee Pearce of Oakland, and Richard and M.C. Pearce of Florida. Deceased are her parents; two infant sons, Lawrence and Timmy; one daughter, Tammy; and one brother, Larry Pearce.
