HOWARD T ALLEN, SR CUMBERLAND -Howard T. Allen Sr., 53, of Cumberland, died Wednesday, April 7, 1999, at his home.

Born May 20, 1945, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late William V. and Viola (Bishop) Allen. Mr. Allen was a retired employee of the Schmidts Bakery after 28 and one-half years of service. He attended Mount Tabor United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Sandra (James) Allen; three daughters, Susan K. McCombs and husband Benjamin, Desuniak Springs, Fla., Melissa D. Bartlett and husband Charles, Oldtown, and Crystal L. Bohrer and husband Brian, Slanesville, W.Va.; one adopted granddaughter, Victoria A. Allen; two sons, Howard T. Allen Jr. and wife Linda, Cumberland, Gary W. Allen and wife Sandra, Lonaconing; 10 grandchildren, William, Ethan, Samantha, Matthew, Joshua, Ashley, Celeste, Angela, Kristen and Sarah; one brother, Charles V. Allen and wife Joyce, Charlotte, N.C.; five sisters, Arvalene Walters, Oldtown, Opal Dolly, Flintstone, Josephine McDonald and husband Joe, Beltsville, Sandy Wentling and husband Lawrence, Corriganville, and Janet Magrogan and husband Ted, Beltsville.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave. Cumberland, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Fred Parker officiating.

Interment will be in the Mount Tabor Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Harold Martin, Lance Bennett, Calvin Dolan, Pete Humbertson, Larry Wentling, Rickey Day, Jeff Imes and James Whisner.
