Married to Stephen Scriber. After being discharged from the war, Stephen and his young wife "Nettie" took up residence in Elmira, NY. After a fire in his business in Syracuse, he and his family moved West to set out a new life together. In 1870 (age 32) he was a school teacher, Nettie was a housekeeper.
Children were George C. (age 4, born in NY; and Charles Ed. Scriber (age 1 and born in WY). According to 1870 census information Stephen and Nettie had their first child (George around 1866, while living in Elmira and second son, Charles, was born in 1869, while in WY; daughter, Ada Estelle was also born March 24, 1872, in Cheyenne, WY.
Edgar Dewitt, brother of Nettie, married to Stephen's sister Delia Scriber--divorced.
In 1877 Stephen's family moved up into the Black Hills, Dakota Territory, (Rochford).
The 1880 census list only "Ellen" Scriber (Nettie) and her daughter, Ada E. living in Rochford, SD.
In September of 1886, Stephen and Nettie were divorced.
Nettie continued to live in Rochford, and eventually remarried in 1896. Her second husband was Albert Amerman, a physician (June 11, 1896).
She died in 1902, and is buried with Albert in the Bell Park Cemetery near Rochford.
