Elsie M. Hendricks, 83, formerly of 1010 S. Ninth St., Yakima, died Wednesday evening at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

Born March 14, 1899, in Springfield, Mo., she was raised and educated there and married Henry Hendricks on February 22, 1922, in Springfield.

After their marriage they moved to The Dalles, Ore., where Mr. Hendricks was based as a conductor for the Union Pacific Railroad. They lived in The Dalles until his retirement in 1947, when they moved to Yakima.

Mrs. Hendricks was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and was active in the Yakima Senior Center. She was also a member of the Union Pacific Old Timers Club, the Missouri Club, the Golden Age Club, and was a past member of the Caro-Shell Garden Club.

Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Joe (Jane) Froelich Jr. of Yakima; two granddaughters, Mrs. Russell (Elaine) Heaton Jr. of Moxee City and Mrs. Linda Smith of Yakima; and five great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Henry Hendricks, died Oct. 4, 1965, in Yakima."
