Funeral rites for Mrs. Coy Berna were held in the Harrell Funeral Chapel October 31 at 2 p.m. The Rev. Charles Perrin officiated. Mrs. Berna died October 29 in the M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston.
Born Alice Cynthia Hancock in Alexander on Sep. 9, 1905, the deceased was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Ben Hancock. She was married on February 10, 1924 to Coy Berna and one child was born to this union. Mrs. Berna was a member of the First Baptist Church here.
Survivors include her husband of Dublin; one daughter, Mrs. Gussie Mae Pinson of Arlington; two grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Annie Mae Berna of Dublin, Mrs. LaBelle Mulville of DeLand, Fla., Mrs. Marie Duggins of Fort Worth; three brothers, John Hancock of Justin, J.P. Hancock of DeLeon and W.T. Hancock from Charlotte, VA.
Pallbearers were James Berna, L.D. Berna Jr., Henry Pettijohn, Denny Pettijohn, Kenneth Berna, Grady Calder, Orval Cumbly and P. Cumbly. Interment was in the Proctor Cemetery.
