Obituary for Mary E. Baker:
Mary E. Baker of Norfork died Wednesday (March 30, 1994) at Calico Rock Medical Center. She was 74.
Services will be at 10AM today at the Old Galatia Church with the Rev. Dave Williamson officiating. Burial will be at Galatia Cemetery. Visitation was from 9AM to 9PM Thrusday a Roller Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 7-8PM.
She is sirvived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Richard Baker of Salesville and Frankie and Betty Baker and Jackie and Lyn Baker, all of Norfork; two daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Kenneth Jefferson of Flippin and Linda and Ron Marsh of Fulton, KS; a brother, Morris Parnell of Salesville; four sisters, Pearl Beard of Midway, Ruby Hargett of Dolph, Alteen Rand of Rodney and Nancy Southard of Springfield, MO; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three brothers and a sister.
A lifelong Norfork resident, Mrs. Baker was bron there Dec 2, 1919 a daughter of the late Edgar Martin and Hettie Margaret Dickerson Parnell. She and the late James Edward Baker were married Oct 21, 1939 at Cardville. Mr. Baker died Jan 29 of this year. Mrs. Baker retired as a lunchroom cook for the Norfork School District after 20 years of service. She was a Baptist and enjoyed playing bingo, shopping and quilting.
