Detroit News Herald - Obit - 23 Jan 1936 - James Atwell, 71, who moved to Sherman a few months ago, died at his home there Friday, where funeral services were held Saturday and the body was sent to Detroit for burial. He had lived near Detroit practically all of his life. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He is survived by his widow; 2 sons, J.O. and O.D. Atwill of Paris; 3 daughters, Mrs. J. G. Bell of Fort Worth, Mrs. Blain Schrader of Clarksville and Mrs. J. C. Johnson of Oregon and 6 grandchildren.
