CAPE VINCENT, N.Y. — Robert E. Lydon, 93, of 355 E. Joseph St., died Friday, July 10, at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.
Born April 6, 1916, in New York City, the son of Michael and Rebecca Lydon, he graduated from local schools. He served in the Army during World War II.
Mr. Lydon was an accountant for G. Schimer Publishing Co. in New York City for a number of years, retiring in 1984, when he moved to Cape Vincent.
He married Eleanor M. McCartney, June 6, 1942, in Brooklyn, N.Y. She died Oct. 8, 1998.
Mr. Lydon, was a member of the John Lauderville American Legion Post, Cape Vincent.
Surviving is a daughter, Mary Titus, Cape Vincent; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A son, Kevin Lydon, died before him.
Private family service will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in St. Vincent of Paul Cemetery, Cape Vincent. There will be no calling Hours.
Arrangements are with the Cleveland Funeral Home, Cape Vincent.
Memorial donation maybe given in his memory to, The ALS Association, Liverpool, N.Y.
