Darlene Eckart Brewer, 86, Elizabeth, died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.

Born Oct. 26, 1922, in New Albany, she was the daughter of the late Dona and Esther Bines Pearson.

She was a retired meat cutter for Barnes Store in Elizabeth and was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include two sons, Jearl Eckart Jr. of Corydon and Patrick Eckart of Elizabeth; three daughters, Lorraine Stewart, Brenda McKnight and Beverly Pittonet, all of Elizabeth; a sister, Juanita Langsdon of Elizabeth; a grandson who lived with her, Adrian Hall of Elizabeth; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; and many great-great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Thursday, Aug. 6, from 5 to 8 p.m. and Friday, Aug. 7, after 9 a.m., at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.

Funeral: Friday, Aug. 7, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home followed by burial in Rose Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth.

Officiant: The Rev. Alvin Wilson.
