Frank Basler Is Summonded Sunday After Illness

New Holstein--Frank Basler, 93, passed away here at 10:45 a.m., Sunday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Henry Dorn, Harrison street, after having been ill the past five months.

Mr. Basler was born in Eglau, Austria, Nov. 23, 1844, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Basler, Sr. The family came to America when Mr. Basler was eight years old and located at Milwaukee for several years, and then went to Mequon where Mr. Basler was married to Margaret Koehler on Sept. 12, 1872. The couple resided on the Basler homestead at Mequon for 19 years and 45 years ago came to Calumet county, locating on a farm north of Chilton. In 1908, they moved to the city of Chilton where they resided on Grand street. Mrs. Basler passed away Sept. 14, 1924. For the past eight years, Mr. Basler made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Henry Dorn, of this city.

Survivors include two sons, Frank, of Sherwood, and John, of Chilton; five daughters, Mrs. Anton Kopf of Chilton, Mrs. William Falk of St. John, Mrs. George Bruckner of Chilton, Mrs. Henry Dorn of New Holstein, and Mrs. John C. Stewart, San Diego, Cal. There are also 21 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Erbe-Hoffmann Funeral home Wednesday morning and followed at 9:30 a.m. by a requiem mass at Holy Rosary Catholic church in New Holstein. The Rev. Alfred Pritzl will officiate and interment will be made in St. Mary's cemetery at Chilton. The body is lying in state at the funeral home from today until the time of services.
