Edith Frances Brown, 75, of 1100 Broadway Street, Mount Pleasant, died at 12:05 a.m. on Thursday, April 25, 1991, at the Maple Leaf Health Care Center in Mount Pleasant. She was born December 17, 1915, in Henry County, Iowa, the daughter of George and Margarett (Gill) Hoover. She married Donald S. Brown on February 6, 1937, in Mount Pleasant.
She was a 1932 graduate of the Pleasant Lawn High School. She worked at Kennedy's Dairy for several years and retired after 13 years from Metromail Inc. at Mount Pleasant. She was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society, and Women of the Moose at Mount Pleasant.
Edith was survived by her husband; her daughters Margaret Cimeley of Paducah, Kentucky, and Nancy Longwell of Mount Pleasant; one brother Thomas Hoover of San Diego, California; one sister Pauline Morrow of Mount Pleasant; and five grandchildren.
Her funeral mass was held at 2:30 p.m. on April 27th at the St. Alphonsus Church in Mount Pleasant with the Rev. Thomas Spiegel officiating. Burial was in Forest Home Cemetery.
