A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, past president of City Association and loved to bowl.
On October 27, 1945 she was married to Robert D. Brenner, who passed away on July 24, 1987. She was also preceded in death by her son: Robert "Stan" Brenner and granddaughter: Beth D. Sheppard.
Widowed for 22 years, Lu took great pride in maintaining her home, large yard and garden area without help. During visits to her daughter's home, she loved to bowl with a great group of ladies.
Surviving are her daughter: Brenda V. Sheppard; grandson: Eric N. Sheppard; and ten great-grandchildren: Robert, Douglas, David, Jacob, Joseph, Katie, Austin, Emily, Ryan and Eric.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home, 703 Capital Avenue, S.W. with Rev. Gary L. Siefert officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery
