Prominent West Ferris Man to be buried in Terrance Lawn Cemetery
A funeral service will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 in trinity United Church, North Bay for the late James Pasmore, a pioneer resident of the district who passed away at his home in West Ferris early Monday afternoon.

Services will be conducted by Col. Davi McAmmond, Toronto, a retired Salvation Army officer who was at one time stationed at North Bay as a territorial commander.

He will be assisted by Adjutant Kenneth Graham of the North Bay Corps of which the late Mr. Pasmore was a member. Interment will be in Terrace Lawn Cemetery.

Born April 6, 1869, in Bleinham township near Drumbo, Ontario the son of the late Thomas Pasmore the deceased was a pioneer resident of this district coming to North Bay in 1896.

Founded Dairy
After taking up residence in this city, he was employed by the C.P.R. as a trainman until 1908. When he gave up railway work to establish the Lakeview Dairy, the first dairy in this city to introduce the use of milk bottles. He retired from the business in 1918.
At the time the adjoining township was divided, Mr. Pasmore became the first clerk of West Ferris, which position he held up to the time of his death.

Although in failing health for the past year, he was so absorbed in affairs of the township, which he had watched grow from a small rural section to a community of importance, he never relate in his community efforts and had attended a council meeting just a week previous to his death.

The township which he took pride in watching develop was his chief hobby in late years and community affairs were given his undivided attention. He had been elected reeve on several occasions before the township was divided the number of years ago. He had also been active in school board work.

A keen follower of sports, he was elected last year as vice-president o the North Bay and District Baseball Association. A love of the outdoors, fishing and hunting were among his favorite hobbies.

He was the last of a family of 13, the other members having predeceased him.

The survivors include his widow Mrs. Mary Pasmore, 2 daughters, Mrs. Major Stella Mundy, Salvation Army Officer of Ontario, and Mrs. Carrie Winterburn, Sunset Lodge, Lake Head, Ontario, five sons, Thomas, Oliver, Bruce, and Ray of West Ferris, & Clifford of Long Branch, Ontario, also 20 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren.

The public school board of the township has authorized the suspension of classes Wednesday afternoon
