Bateman, Mrs. Mit B. (Mary Simmons). A native of Pike County, Mississippi and life-long resident of Baton Rouge died February 25th at Baton Rouge General Hospital. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, James J. Bateman and a daughter, Emily Wadsworth. Survivors are two daughters, one son, one sister, two brothers, ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
