GILBERTSVILLE — Barbara Evelyn Moore Washam, 86, of Gilbertsville, Ky., formerly of Mayfield, Ky., passed away at 1:50 p.m. Friday, January 14, 2011, at Paducah Care and Rehabilitation Center.
She was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Association. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She worked as a bookkeeper at her husband's optometrist office in Mayfield, Ky.
She is survived by two daughters, Deryl Martin of San Antonio, Texas, and Debra Scott of Gilbertsville, Ky.; grandchildren, George Hanlin of Portland, Ore., Jessica Hanlin of Burton Latimer, England, Sara Martin of San Antonio, Texas, Sally Martin Favela of Arlington, Texas, and Katy Martin of San Antonio, Texas; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Dr. James B. Washam; one brother, Frank Moore; and her parents, Arthur Moore and Fannabelle Campbell Moore.
A private burial will be held at Benton Cemetery. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home and Crematory is handling the arrangements.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Lourdes Hospice and Paducah Care & Rehabilitation Center.
