John R. Lyons

Beaver - John R. Lyons, 91, of Lynwood Dr. died Sunday in the Beaver Valley Geriatric Center following a long illness. A resident of East Liverpool for 20 years, he was born Sept. 28, 1892, in Hookstown, Pa., a son of the late Abram and Mary Allison Lyon. He was a retired car shop foreman for the former Pennsylvania Railroad. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and the Loyal Order of Moose of East Liverpool. In addition to his wife, Mrs. Verna May Lyons of East Liverpool, survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Pauline Stephens of Midland, and Mrs. Paul K. (Betty J.) Summers of Beaver, with whom he resided; a brother, Clifford Lyon of Georgetown; seven grandchildren; 16 great - grandchildren; and two great - great- grandchildren. Funeral services are to be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. from the J. T. Anderson Jr. & Son Funeral Home, 205 College Ave., Beaver, with the Rev. Frank I. Snavely, a retired minister, officiating. Burial is to be in Beaver Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
