It turns out his full Christian name is WILLIAM L. J. EDWARDS. There are court marriage records in Monticello, Jefferson County, FL with that name on them and that's the name listed on the Federal Census with his father, mother & brother's names.

WILLIAM "AMMA" EDWARDS' Last Will & Testament was nullified by the court and all his assets were distributed as if he had 'no will'. There is a gigantic file for the Probate of A. EDWARDS at the Jefferson County, FL courthouse. One of his daughters, Carrie Edwards (1st m. Hudson) (2nd m. Simmons) (3rd m. Wolfe), is one of the administrators of his last wishes.
