Opal Anderson
Opal ANDERSON, 79, of 1304 Washington St., died at 1:50 a.m. today at Woodlawn Hospital following an extended illness.
She was born Dec. 14, 1903 in Miami County to John and Ella CLEMANS FISHER. She spent her lifetime here. She married Charles Dee ANDERSON in Rochester on Dec. 14, 1921; he survives. She was a former employee of The Rochester Sentinel, retiring Feb. 3, 1965 as society editor and billing clerk. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Rochester and the North Judson Order of Eastern Star.
Surviving with the husband are a son, Marvin D. [ANDERSON], Rochester; a daughter, Mrs. C.E. (Colleen) VAUGHN, Houston, Mo.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Loy FISHER, Hartford, Mich.; a sister, Mrs. Jack (Treva) MARION, Hemet, Calif. Two grandchildren, a sister and five brothers preceded in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Zimmerman Brothers Funeral Home with the Rev. Peter PASCOE officiating. Burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Fricay and Saturday prior to the services. Memorials may be made to the Woodlawn Hospital Cancer Detection Center.
