Lineville - Jacob Richard Abner, 86, of Lineville, died Monday at his residence after a long illness.
Funeral services were scheduled today at 11 a.m. at Lineville First Baptist Church with the Rev. J. L. Hidgon and the Rev. G. L. Armstrong officiating. Burial will be in Christiana Baptist Church Cemetery with Blair Brown Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Cassie Abner; a step-son, John Franklin burell of Childersburg; four sisters, Mrs. Louisa Waldrip, Mrs. Rebecca East, and Mrs. Fronie Mitchell, all of Lineville, and Mrs. Beulah Graben of Florence; five brothers, Stacey Abner of Cleveland, Tenn., Roosevelt Abner of Terr Haute, Ind., Charlie Abner of Jasper, Arvill Abner of Wedowee, and Leonard Abner of PortAngeles, Wash. and three grandchildren.
Mr. Abner was a member of Lineville First Baptist Church and a retired employee of the City of Lineville.
