Enoch Davis died at his home in Grout township, Nov. 8, 1927, after a long illness, aged 79 years, 2 months, and 14 days. Enoch Davis was born August 25, 1848, in Blenheim Township, Oxford County, Ontario. He was married in 1872 to Malinda Pasmore. They came to Michigan in 1879 and settled in Grout township. They returned to Ontario in 1882 and remained there until 1894 when they returned to Gladwin and have lived here since. Mr. Davis was a highly esteemed, a good neighbor and friend. His demise will be regretted by a wide acquaintanceship. He was a member of the West Grout Methodist church.
He is survived by his wife, their three sons, Frank of Mauston, Wis., Bert at home and Willis of Sage township, three grandchildren, LaVern Davis of Sage township, and Rev. and Mrs. Glenn Davis of Wenona, Minn., two sisters, Mrs. John Gowans of Mackinaw and Mrs. J. Curry of Escanaba, one brother, W. W. Davis of Shedd, Oregon, his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Willis Davis, many other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 11, at the West Grout Methodist Episcopal church, conducted by Rev. Robert S. Miller. Burial in Highland cemetery. Gladwin County Record dated 11-17/1927 Column - 5 Page - 5
