Millard Luna, a resident of Valliant, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2005 in Paris, Texas, at the age of 86. He was born on February 2, 1919 in Olney to John Andrew and Lucinda (Powell) Luna. He was a carpenter and had lived in this area most of his life. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II and was a member of the DAV and the Masons. He will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his wife, Okemah Luna, his parents, one son Millard Glen Luna, eight brothers and one sister.
He is survived by one son, Roy Keith Luna of Hugo; three daughters, Mary Donna Coffey of Valliant, Judith Gail Butler of Oklahoma City and Karen Fern Ray of Hugo; three sisters, Virginia Hines of Las Vegas, Nev., Ruth Bagstad of Fort Worth, Texas and Eula Faye Caldwell of Gatesville, Texas; 16 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
Funeral services for Millard Luna were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2005, at Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel, with Charles Lauchner and Robert Eberhardt officiating. Interment was in Swink Cemetery.
The family received friends at Mr. Luna's residence on Tuesday, December 13, 2005 from 6-8 p.m.
