Dorothy J. "Dotty" Bauman, 78, formerly of O'Shanter and most recently of Mason, OH, passed away on July 30 at Heritage Spring of West Chester, OH.

She was born on Nov. 11, 1930 in Lawrence Twp., Clearfield Co., the daughter of Earl J. and Ada (Dixon) Best.

Mrs. Bauman had worked as a quality inspector at the former Kent's Sportswear.

She was a member of the O'Shanter United Methodist Church and Clearfield Chapter #379 Order of Eastern Star.

Mrs. Bauman is survived by her daughter, Valerie L. Tate and her husband Stacey L. of Mason, OH, a granddaughter, Kaitlin E. Tate of Mason, OH, two sisters: Betty Coble of Munson, PA and Linda Fisher and her husband Robert of Fleming, PA, a brother, Terry Jordan of Sarasota, FL, a sister-in-law, Julia White of O'Shanter and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Glenn O. Bauman whom she married on Sept. 14, 1956 at West Side United Methodist, Clearfield and who passed away on Jan. 12, and two brothers: William Best and Randall Jordan Jr. Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 3 at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., of Clearfield with Pastor Christine Freeman-Frank officiating. Interment will be in Bloomington Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the O'Shanter United Methodist Church c/o Pastor Christine Freeman-Frank, 606 Woodland Bigler Highway, Woodland, PA 16881, the Glen Richey Fire Company Auxillary, 86 Firehouse Road, Glen Richey, PA 16837 or Hospice of Cincinnati, 4310 Cooper Road, Cincinnati, OH 45242 (513-891-7700).
