CONWAY — Mrs. Ruby Conwell Bridgers, 59, died Saturday in Roanoke Rapids Hospital. A native of Halifax County, she was a daughter of William Emmett and Mrs. Cornelia Buckley Conwell and the wife of B. Hallie Bridgers. She was a member of Conway United Methodist Church.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Aubrey Lee Whitley and Douglas Whitley, both of Conway; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Mary Lou Futrell of Burlington; a stepson, Benjamin H. Bridgers of Graham; five sisters, Mrs. Irene C. Thompson of Garysburg, Mrs. Hazel C.Trice of Richmond, VA, Mrs. Edna C. Snoddy and Mrs. Margaret Chapman of Sandston, VA and Mrs. Rosalee Haukes of Newport News, VA; two brothers, Willard E. Conwell of Garysburg and Forrest C. Conwell of Rocky Mount; and four grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Monday in Conway United Methodist Church by the Rev. Lewis Dillman and the Rev. Paul Leeland. Burial was in Conway Cemetery.
