CONWAY — Robert Ransome Allen, 43, died Monday in his home. A native of Northampton County, he was the husband of Mrs. Betty Jean Strickland Allen and a son of Winborne and the late Mrs. Nettie Bridgers Allen. He was a farmer and a member of Zion United Methodist Church.
Besides his widow and father, surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Audrey A. Bryant, and a son, Robert Ray Allen, both of Conway; seven sisters, Mrs. Margaret A. Wheeler of Seaboard, Mrs. Clorene A. Wade, Mrs. Millie A. Martin, Mrs. Virginia A. Flythe and Mrs. Sylvia A. Ricks of Conway, Mrs. Josephine A. Baker of Capital Heights, MD, and Mrs. Nell A. Long of Pendleton; three brothers, Earl Allen of Ahoskie, Jennings Allen and Sidney Allen of Conway and two grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Wednesday in Zion United Methodist Church by the Rev. Daniel Bowman and the Rev. Billy Herbert. Burial was in Conway cemetery.
