SHELBY Mrs. Ruby Frances McCraw Black, 80, of 199 Pleasant Ridge Church Road, died Sunday, June 12, 2005, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Born in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Alvin and Esther Geneva Godfrey McCraw. She was a cafeteria supervisor at Crest High School. She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Marshall, Miles and Esley McCraw; and a sister, Beuna Bowen.
She is survived by her husband, D. C. Black; a son, Kenny Black and wife, Donna, of Graham; two daughters, Freida Jones and husband, Wayne, of Blacksburg, S.C. and Brenda Morrison and husband, Roger, of Shelby; 10 grandchildren, Leslie Cobb, Pam Ruppe, Sgt. Clint Morrison, Jessica Morrison, Dusty Black, Kody Black, Kolton Black, Kannon Black, Kassidy Black and Branson Black; two great-grandchildren, Alexis Cobb and Caitlin Cobb; and three nephews, Neil McCraw, John McCraw and Jim Bowen.
The funeral will be Thursday at 7 p.m. at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, with Dr. Terry Cagle and the Revs. Andy Oliver, Paul West and Brian Harris officiating.
The family will receive friends Thursday at the church from 5 to 7 p.m. and at other times at the home.
