Clayton David Sweem, 96, son of David S and Elizabeth Rudey Sweem was born February 21, 1963, at Knoxville, Mo and died June 28, 1959, at his home in Cameron.
He was the only boy of four children. He also had two half brothers.
Clayton spent his younger years in Ray County before coming to Caldwell County, where he met and married Cynthia Stanfil on October 21, 1886.
To this union five sons and one daughter were born. Cythia passed away in 1951. Three sons also preceded Clayton in death, Rufus F, Floyd T and Ervin L.
Clayton Sweem was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, who have their headquarters on the Temple Lot in Independence.
He is survived by his two sons, John A Sweem and David Anderson Sweem, Hamilton, Mo; one daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Vernon, Cameron; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Ervin Sweem, Las Cruces, N.M., and 14 Grandchildren, 30 Great Grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
