Born August 13, 1940 at Ambridge, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Albert Magis and Rose Kopriva Magis. Josephine was the Quality Assurance Director at the National Center for Toxicological Research (NCTR) for a number of years after working for more than 20 years at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. She was of the Catholic faith, loved animals (especially her feline friends), and served as a board member for Habitat for Humanity of Jefferson County.
Her survivors include a brother, William Magis and wife Grace of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; a nephew Mark Magis; nieces, Pamela Alexander and husband Perry, Wendy Magis and husband David Martin.
Cremation arrangements were by Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services.
