Son of Major Godfrey Ropp and Sarah Emma White. William was firstborn of their 12 children.

Paternal grandparents: William and Elizabeth (Wolford) Ropp.

Maternal grandparents: Eli Perry and Hannah Sarah Jane (Nevitt) White.


Originally buried in William "Billie" Dunning cemetery. The graves and Dunning gate were moved to Englewood about 1979 to make way for the Lakes projects. The cemetery was "recreated" in Englewood as shown in photo to right. Most of the graves are marked with a standard marker, altho a few of the original tombstones were moved and placed here. Many graves are markeed as "unknown".
