George Thomas Harris Sr., 83, of Fanshawe died Tuesday, July 28, 2009, in Fanshawe. He was born June 11, 1926, in Red Oak, Okla. He was an oilfield pumper, rancher and of the Baptist faith. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Grace Manor Funeral Memorial Chapel in Poteau with burial at Hicks Chapel Cemetery, near Fanshawe. He is survived by three daughters, Ann Savage of Red Oak, Shirley Mosel of Danville, Va., and Susan Henderson of Wichita Falls, Texas; four sons, Thomas Harris of Wister, Lee Harris of Fanshawe, Larry Harris of Red Oak and Billy Harris of Bull Hill; three sisters, Betty Kruseman of Castro Valley, Calif., Emma Marler of Wister and Willa Divine of Wichita Falls; a brother, Ted Harris of Fanshawe; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Johnny Herrington, Randy and Jimmy Newby, Dan Bost, Jerrod Marcangeli and Bud Morgan.
