Mrs. Nellie M. (Briggs) Penfield
After an illness of about two months, mrs. Nellie M. Penfield of Susquehanna avenue died on Tuesday, September 21, at the Mary Imogene Bassett hospital.
The daughter of Dewitt and Mary gano Briggs, she was born in Westville January 30, 1871. On June 15, 1897 she was married to William Penfield.
Mrs. Penfield had been a resident of Cooperstown for about 40 years. She was a member of the Methodist church. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. John Van Nort of New York; tow grandchildren, Richard and William Van Nort; and three sister, Mrs. Leona Evans, Mrs. Thurmond Palmer, and Mrs. Elizabeth Hueston, all of Oneonta.
Funeral Services will be conducted On Friday, September 24 by the Rev. Clarence Andres of the Methodist church at the Tillapaugh Funeral home. Interment will be in the Hartwick Seminary Cemetery.
