FORMER MORGAN
RESIDENT DEAD

August E. Rose, aged 76, died this morning at five o'clock at the family home, 607 Chester street. He had been ill since last Monday.

Mr. Rose was born in Sweden on September 1. 1857, a son Of Olaf and Mary Brienk Rose; He came with his parents, who were L. D. S. converts to Morgan, when he was eleven years of age. He lived in Morgan county until 1910 when he moved to Ogden, where he had since resided.

Mr. Rose was a farmer and took an active part in civic and religious affairs. He was married to Mary Ann Rose Brough in Salt Lake City in 1879 and she died in Ogden in 1931.

In 1895 Mr. Rose went on a two year L. D. S. mission to Sweden. He was a member of high priests of Ogden stake.

Surviving are the following sons and daughters: Mrs. J.B. Waldren, Mrs. Lyman Mecham, Jr., Parley A. Rose, Stanley B. Rose, all of Morgan. Mrs. James H. Rich. and Mrs. Amnaon Bartholomew of Ogden; 20 grandchildren;, one brother, John H. Rose, Morgan, and a sister, Mrs. Emmeline Cottam of California.

Services will be held Sunday afternoon at one o' clock in the L.D. S. Eighth ward chapel, with Bishop I. L. Richards presiding. The body may be viewed at the home, 607 Chester street Saturday evening and Sunday until hour of services. Interment will be made in Mount Ogden Memorial park under the direction of Lindquist & Sons.
