While attending the picnic at Mount Gretna on last Thursday shortly after the noon hour William R. Arrison with some other boys were shooting the chutes and it is supposed he seized with cramps when he went into the water and sank to the bottom where he remained until nearly half past seven. His companions thought he had gone out and gave it no further thought. After the bathers had all left, the bath house keeper discovered a boy's clothing in locker N0 2, and upon inquiry it was found that William Arrison was missing. A search was made and the coat in which George Zeller and Albert Miller were using grappling irons, recovered his body near the chutes where he was last seen and brought it to shore. It was a sad accident and cast a deep gloom over the days outing. He was aged 17 years, 7 months, and 10 days and was born in Cumberland County. His parents are both dead and Rev. L.A. Furman had papers drawn up for adoption so that he might have a home. Funeral services were held from the United Evangelical Church, Sunday afternoon with Rev. J.E. Hollenbaugh and several local ministers conducting the services. The funeral was largely attended and the Marysville Boy Scouts were present in a body.
