Abel Burritt
Abel Burritt, a well-known resident of this city died after a lingering illness, at 9 o’clock last evening. Mr. Burritt commenced business in this place as a clerk in the general merchandise store of L.H. culver, where for many years he was head book keeper of the establishment. He was there noted for perseverance, energy and genial deportment, and won may friends. Finally he embarked in business on his own account as a general insurance and real estate agent, in which business he was engaged for more than thirty years. By energy, shrewdness and frugality, he amassed a large fortune. He leaves a widow, son and daughter. His age was 76 years.

Abel Burritt of Ithaca, brother of the late Stephen Burritt of this place, died July 4th, and will be buried to-day.
