Home Notes
Francis O. Barney died at the Home hospital Saturday, Nov. 2nd, age 72 years. He was born in Lorain county, Ohio, June 4, 1834, enlisted as private in Company E, First Regiment of Wisconsin heavy artillery at Briggsville, Wis., Sept. 20, 1864, and was discharged at Fort O'Rouke, Va., June 26, 1865, having served nine months and six days. He was admitted to the Home from Fremont, Neb., June 1, 1907. The funeral was held in the Home chapel Sunday the 3rd at 3 p.m., Rev. William T. Kahse, of the English Lutheran church, officiating, interment being made in the Home cemetery. His wife, one son and daughter-in-law were present at the funeral. They returned to their home in Fremont Sunday evening.
