Born April 14, 1949 in Bedford, she was the daughter of Roy D. and Ora Alice (Benefiel) Smoot.
She retired in 1994 as an administrative assistant at the Stonehenge Lodge in Bedford. She enjoyed tending flowers and being involved in her grandchildren's activities. She was a member of Valley Mission Church of the Nazarene and a former member of the Spring Mill Squares Dance Club and Chapter E2 of the Goldwing Road Riders Association.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Arnold, of Bedford and Lake Wales, Fla.; son and daughter-in-law, Travis Lee and Leandra Goodman, of Jasonville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kristi Jo and Terry Srygler, of Avoca, Debbie and Billy Ryan, of Danville, Ill., and Tammy and Paul Martin, also of Danville, Ill.; one sister and brother-in-law, Nancy A. and Otto Fleetwood, of Haines City, Fla.; one brother, Gary L. Smoot, of Bedford, 13 grandchildren; and two nephews, Corey and Casey Allen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Sue Jo Smoot in December, 1955.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Valley Mission Church of the Nazarene in Bedford with the Rev. Duane Brown officiating.
