Born on May 16,1859 to Granville P. and Charlotte Catherine Coffee Willcoxon of Tennessee, Elizabeth married Zachariah Thomas Vernon on August 16, 1877 in Collin County, Texas. Zachariah died in 1892. Children:

2. E.E.L. Vernon, b: 1880 d: 1881 in Texas
3. Etta Vernon, b: 1881 d: 1954 in Texas
4. Oliver Vernon, b: February 1882 in Texas

7. Lydia Zora Vernon, b: April 1888 d: 1963 in Texas
8. Roy Vernon, b: June 1891 in Texas

In 1894 Ellen married James W. Bailey, 1870 - 1940 and according to the 1900 US Census of Collin County, Texas they had two sons before June of 1900.

1. William Preston Bailey, b: April 10, 1895 d: September 5, 1959 in Texas
2. James R. Bailey, b: March 27, 1896 d: January 23, 1949 in Texas

On April 14, 1928 Ellen Bailey died in Childress, Childress, Texas of severe burns. She is buried in the Childress Cemetery.

Note: Her death certificate states that she was born on May 15, 1868, but the 1900 US Census of Collin County shows her birth year as 1859. Since her first child was born in 1874, the earlier date is probably correct.
