Jeremiah fought in the Tyrone County New York Militia during the Revolutionary War. He married Catharine Veghte on June 2, 1789 in Fonda but she died just two years later. His second marriage was to Elizabeth Carncross on June 3, 1798, also in Fonda. She was born 15 March 1778 in Niskayuna, Schenectady, New York and died 27 July 1878 in Johnstown, Fulton, New York.
