Evalee was born with the name "Lovie Magdeline Morris". She alwas went by the name of Evalee. To her family she was know as Mom, Grandma, Mama and even Granny. To her many friends as Sis Braswell or Lee. The life in shich she led was a reflection of her witness for Jesus Christ. She put her God first, her church came second, and then her family and friends. She had a special place for each of us in her heart. In fact just a few days before her passing she asked Rev. Barr if all the church budgets were paid! Here again just a sample of her constant concern for her church.

Evalee and Ruel G. Braswell were married in 1930 in Paducah. Together they served God in many communities and churchses. Ruel was a Church of the Nazarene Preacher.

In her hospital room on Sunday evening of June 18th with her grandchildren, a dear friend and Rev. Barr by her bedside, she faintly recited her favorite scripture the 23rd Psalm. Tears were brought to the eyes of those witnessing this beautiful site of a dear saint whose love was for her Savior. And before the circle was broken she prayed for her unsaved children and grandchildren. Through all her suffering she never lost her faith and trust in God.

Just as a precious rose blooms into a beautiful flower, our dear one was to us a very precious rose, but as a rose begins to wither and loose its petals our rose too began loosing her petals during her fight with cancer, one by one her petals fell. But even though we grieve the loss of our loved one, we must remember the promise that God as given to us, "Roses will bloom again: and one day if we choose to make heaven our eternal home, we will see our precious rose. We hold many happy memories in our hearts of the love and happiness she gave to each of us. She was the cornerstone of our family and as a tribute to her we must let this special love continue.
