Sam Armstrong was a son of John B Armstrong. He was born in Collin County Texas, May 10, 1848 and he died March 7, 1904 , Grandfalls, Ward County, Texas. On June 23, 1900 he was living as a boarder in the Johnson family home in Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory , where he met his future wife Flora Alva Johnson (1876-1954) Samuel was quite a bit older than Flora. I am sure as a boarder in the household he helped with work on the farm for his keep and fell in love with Flora. Flora was a daughter of Nathaniel Barney Johnson (1845-1926) and America Emmaline Mills (1857-1913) . Flora and Sam had one child, Claude, who died very young.
