Age 83 of Chestertown, MD, died July 21, 2009 in Chestertown Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Chestertown.

Mrs. Everett was born on May 13, 1926 in Chestertown, daughter of the late Reuben F. and Janie Usilton Jamar. A lifetime resident of Chestertown where she was a graduate of the Chestertown High School Class of 1943. Mrs. Everett worked as a bookkeeper for C.W. Kibler & Son, for a number of years and in the 1970's began working for Kent County Dept. of Social Services, retiring in 1991. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. Mrs. Everett was a wonderful seamstress, enjoyed cooking especially white potato pie and dances at the Millington VFW.

She was preceded in death by her husband 49 years, John F. Everett in 1996, 2 brothers Robert and Reuben Jamar, and 7 sisters, Elizabeth Myers, Katherine Greenwood, Dorothy Whiteley, Flora Hardin, June Kemp, Christine Pletzer and Margaret Ann Silverman. Mrs. Everett is survived by her daughter, Kathy Lee Baxter and her husband Richard H. of Newark, DE; a sister, Sarah L. Smith of Centreville, MD; a sister-in-law Lenora Jamar; brother-in-law George Pletzer and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 25 at 11am in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD, where friends may call 1 hour prior. Burial in Chester Cemetery, Chestertown.

Family suggests donations to Christ United Methodist Church, 401 High St.
