Ida Lee Alexander McNabb, 100, of Kingsland, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 4. She was born Dec. 5, 1908, in Peach Orchard, Ark., to the late Olie Donald Alexander and Annie Leora Baker Alexander. She was married to Andrew Ervin McNabb on Sept. 12, 1925, in Vernon, Texas. They moved to Gonzales, and lived there for 15 years before moving to Vanderbilt, Texas. After the death of her husband in 1967, Ida moved back to Gonzales where she lived for 17 years. During this time, she was an active and faithful member of the Memorial Heights Baptist Church in Gonzales. In 1986, due to health reasons, Ida moved to Kingsland to be nearer to family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew; daughter, Billy Ann Lamb; son-in-law, C.W. Lamb; grandson, Terry Lee McNabb; and brother, Roy D. Alexander.
Survivors include two sons, Andrew E. McNabb Jr. and wife Doris of Beeville and Curtis D. McNabb of Rockport; daughter, Patricia L. Barr and husband Melville of Kingsland; nine grandchildren, Elizabeth Chaplin and husband Robert, John Lamb and wife Toni, Donald McNabb and wife Cathy, Michael McNabb and wife Carin, Janice Ellis and husband Charles, Devora Touchstone, Alan McNabb and wife Jan, Ronald Barr, and Karen Lundell and husband Wayne; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
Ida was a faithful member of Buchanan West Baptist Church for the entire time she was in Kingsland.
Funeral services for Ida Lee McNabb were Tuesday, July 7 at 11 a.m. at Buchanan West Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Stratton officiating. Graveside service were at Gonzales Memorial Park in Gonzales, Texas, at 4 p.m. with Rev. Charles Ellis officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Buchanan West Baptist Church, 850 Lillian Dean, Buchanan Dam, TX 78609.
