In memory of their mother; both published in the Sun, Baltimore MD, Thursday, February 9, 1922:

In sad but loving remembrance of my dear mother, Mary R. Kemp, who passed away seven years ago today, February 9.
No one knows how much I miss you,
No one knows the tears I shed;
But in Heaven I hope to meet you
Where no farewell words are said.
Oh, mother, smile on me from Heaven;
Ask God to lead me when I die.
That I may meet you, dear mother,
Home sweet day, by and by.
BY HER SON, WALTER AND FAMILY

In loving remembrance of my dear mother, MARY R. KEMP, who departed this life seven years ago, February 9, 1915.
When the world is cheerful, mother,
And smiles are on each brow,
Oh, blame me not for weeping
For I have no mother now.
Can I help but feel lonely
When your sweet voice I do not hear?
For no words were ever sweeter
Than the words of mother dear.
No one knows the silent heartaches;
Only those who have lost can tell
Of the grief that’s borne in silence,
Of the ones I loved so well.
BY HER LOVING DAUGHTER, MARTHA LEISURE
