Mary Katherine Booth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Brubaker, was born December 21, 1887, at Defiance, Ohio. In 1904 the family came to Gladwin county and located on a farm in Grout township. On February 18, 1907, she was married at the Church of Sacred Heart to Elmer Booth. She leaves three children, Mary Nadeau, Forest and Esther Booth. Two children, Ruth and Ignatius Booth, preceeded her in death. For a number of years she has made her home at Toledo, Ohio, where she died of gall stones at a hospital February 5 after an illness of seven weeks. Other surviving relatives are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Brubaker, six sisters, Leah, Elva, Nora, Grace and Emma, and nine brothers, Ralph, Dave, Curtis, Victor, Rollie, Raymond, John, Lawrence and Dennis.
Rev. Father Albert S. Baumann conducted services at the Church of Sacred Heart Friday February 8, at 10 a.m., followed by burial at Highland cemetery. Six brothers, Dave, Curtis, Victor, Dennis, Raymond and Laurence Brubaker, acted as pallbearers.
A soleman high mass was sung for Mrs. Booth. Rev. Father Baumann was the celebrant. Rev. Father James Fitzpatrick of Harbor Beach was deacon of the mass. He also delivered the funeral address. Rev. Father Urban Miller of West Branch was sub-deacon of the mass. Relatives from out-of-town who were here to attend the funeral were: Mary and Steve Schondell, Russell Smith, Frank Strum, Elva Kanthah and Victor Brubaker of Toledo, Ohio; David Brubaker of Tampa, Florida; and Joe and Nora Gruse of Mt.
