Cora Mae Brant died last Wednesday while a patient in Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital at the age of 86 years, 1 month and 19 days of age.

The funeral was Saturday at 2 p.m., from the First Baptist Church, Superior, with Pastor Phil Thomas officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.

Daughter of William and Dora Holer Heater, she was born Aug. 17, 1902, on a farm near Esbon, Kan. The family moved to Red Cloud when she was a small child and she received her education in the Red Cloud schools.

Sept. 30, 1922, she was united in marriage to Pat Brant. After their marriage they lived in Republic, Lebanon and Superior.

Writing poetry was her favorite pastime. Several had been published including the poem on the back of her memorial folder.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Pat, in November, 1963; three sons, Dwight, Vaeden and Richard; two brothers, Ben and in (sic) infant brother, Everett; and three grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Wayne Cassens and Bob Brant of Superior and Marcile Imler of Hardy; two brothers, Lester Heater, a resident of Bethesda Care Center, Smith Center, Kan., and Oliver Heater, Lincoln; 19 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; and many other relatives.

Megrue-Price Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
