ABEL BEACH SERVICES TUESDAY AFTERNOON
Abel Beach, son of Ira and Sarah Eliza Beach, was born in Ohio Oct. 8, 1865 and passed away at his home in Russell, Iowa on December 30, 1944 at the age of 79 years and 3 months.
When but a young man he united with the Methodist church and remained a faithful worker for the Lord throughout all
the years.
He was united in marriage to Mahulda Shaeffer March 17, 1886 who passed away March 14, 1923. To this union were born seven children. One died in infancy and one son, Virgil, was taken at the age of seven.
On October 6, 1926, he was again united in marriage to Mrs. Nannie Means of Melrose, Iowa.
He spent most of his life near Moravia, Iowa until 1922 when he moved his family to Centerville, Iowa, then later to his present home in Russell.
He was a devoted husband and a kind and loving father. Always willing to sacrifice himself for the comforts of his family.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, three sons, Arthur F., of University Park, Ia., David Lee of Unionville, Mo., and Ralph E., of Des Plaines, Ill., two daughters, Mrs. Orah Day of Davenport, Ia., and Mrs. Blanche Brown of Des Plaines, Ill, 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Helen Garretson of Moravia, Iowa and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was a good neighbor, always ready to lend a helping hand wherever needed and was a friend to all who knew him.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon January 2nd at the Woodman funeral home and burial was made in the Russell cemetery.
