Their other son, George, was a career US Cavalryman. He retired and died at
Vancouver, WA in 1900. He was involved in the Civil War and Indian Wars.
Considered a very formidable man with guns and horses. He was involved in many
tracking parties after cattle rustlers and Indian disputes in Utah & Oregon
Territory. On one occasion he shot and killed a blacksmith at Vancouver, details
are sketchy.
