Beulah L. Durkee, age 83 years, passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at Bethany Riverside in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.

She was born on July 2, 1924 to George W. and Vera F. (Robinson) McBain at Trippville. Beulah was united in marriage to Arnold W. Durkee on August 20, 1940, sharing a life for almost 55 years; he preceded her in death on February 27, 1995.

Beulah worked for over 20 years at the St. Joseph's Hospital. She took great pride and pleasure in her numerous duties as a nurse's aide. In 1980, Beulah and Arnold purchased "Our Place" in Hillsboro, where they will be remembered for their burgers, ball games, pool, and card parties. Following retiring from their business they became involved in the opening and running of the Lutheran Home in Hillsboro. They were the first caregivers and very instrumental in the opening of the home. After 5 years they retired full time returning to their home in Kendall.

Her life has been fulfilled by her faith, marriage and life shared with family, she was very happy that their family continues to grow. Survivors include six children, Darrell (Deb) Durkee of Kendall, Terry (Yvonne) Durkee of Aztec, New Mexico, Rita (Don) Yahnke of Kendall, Anita Durkee of Reedsburg, Kathy Hockmuth of Hillsboro and Marla (Dale Jr.) Scott of Kendall; seventeen Grandchildren; twenty-six Great-grandchildren; four Great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Geraldine (Dean) Moore of Hillsboro; a brother, Marvin McBain of Hillsboro; and a brother-in-law, Orlo Durkee of Hillsboro.

In addition to her husband, Arnold, she was preceded in death by, her Parents; three grandchildren, Baby Herrewig and Babies Hockmuth; a great-grandchild, Baby Steele; two sisters, Flossie Durkee and Marveline McBain; and a nephew, Rodney Durkee.

Mom will be greatly missed, and at the same time we thank God for the blessings of such wonderful, loving Parents.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 22, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, with Rev. Conrad Prell officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Tabor Cemetery. Friends may call at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m.
