Thomas and Delphia or Delpha had at least seven children including Tennessee Virginia, John S, Louisa J, Thomas Jefferson, Richard c, my gg grandfather Stephen Samuel, and Philadelphia. And once two brothers test you have the DNA of their father proved. If you have a patriarch born in 1787 you need two sons of his with male descendants to the present who could both test the y-dna or any descendants to test the at-DNA and once you have tese matching, then and only then can the line be proved.
