Mrs. Mary M. Cummings, 51, died at Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, April 12 and funeral service were held the following Thursday afternoon at the LaForge Undertaking Co. chapel with the Rev. Howard Ray and Rev. Floyd V. Brower officiating. Burial was in Maple Cemetery.
Mrs. Cummings was born May 1, 1908 at Bird's Point, Missouri. the daughter of Robert and Huldy Haws Lynn, and at one time made her home in Cardwell. For the past 20 years she had worked as a receptionist at a hospital in St. Louis and came to Caruthersville to live with her sister, Mrs. Jeff Swift, six months ago, when her health failed.
In addition to Mrs. Swift, she leaves a brother, Robert Lynn of St. Louis and several nieces and nephews. Her only child, a son, died several years ago.
